O Reino Unido "começou a inverter a tendência" da pandemia de coronavírus, mas deve "seguir adiante" com o confinamento, afirmou hoje o primeiro-ministro Boris Johnson em sua primeira aparição pública depois de se recuperar da covid-19.

"Graças a nossa determinação nacional coletiva (...) é como começamos a inverter a tendência", disse Johnson em sua primeira entrevista desde que saiu do hospital em 12 de abril.

Ele afirmou, no entanto, que não pode especificar "com que rapidez ou lentidão ou mesmo quando" o confinamento será suspenso no país, que até o momento registra 21 mil mortes em hospitais devido ao coronavírus.
